There are many inconspicuous and even hidden businesses that you don’t know how to go to the door. Our idea is to express a low-key, practical, simple style like the “hidden lane”. 

The idea of a kind of innovation in a village. The base is an old residential building located in Lane Lane, Daan District, Taipei City. It was built in the 60s and 70s. The front is a lane of less than 3m, and the rear is a 1.5m fire lane. The lighting is poor; but we like that era. I like the illusion of time. 

In the urban area of Taipei, most people always enlarge the function space of the house as much as possible. The outdoor wall material uses plate mold grouting, mainly for waterproofing treatment, and gives the design vocabulary, the right oblique wall line and the left oblique meeting room glass. The use of vintage black marble is used to define the boundary between indoor and outdoor space. The original structural column of the building is covered with black iron plate, which makes it slowly nourish and fits the age of the old building. The outdoor wall of the conference is made of tempered glass. The problem of insufficient indoor lighting is also a way of saving energy. Inside, we retain the traces of the original demolition and excavation. This is the cycle of building life, which creates conflict with new materials, but at the same time, it is matched with each other. It is divided into six zones according to functional division, conference room and staff training zone, MINI BAR. The upper mirrored cabinet extends to the outside and converts to black iron plate in the glass compartment area. The wall presents the Rough texture of the building. The middle area is the base of the designer’s discussion. The table top uses the remaining slabs of wood, which is only treated with wood oil, retaining many knots and insect holes. The black iron chair in this area is where we found many places, during the industrial revolution. Mechanical and rough sense, the design department and the discussion area are overlapped with each other. The design table is made up of two suspended 12mm reinforced transparent glass. The X shape supports the iron piece, the upper hanging cabinet surrounds the internal use cabinet, and the box door is punched. Inspired by the movie Transformers, the company’s exclusive Code, composed of colleagues and company letters, the right side of the black glass bookcase is convenient for executives to directly see the conference area and outdoor. There is a Shower in the Toilet, which uses transparent glass with a one-way mirror as a compartment. The outside space can be clearly seen from the inside, while at the same time, privacy can be preserved. The gray mirror on the wall breaks into the screen and can be used to play movies and works. The stainless steel countertop is cut into a custom-made artificial stone basin with a height of only 100mm and a sloping plate inside, allowing the water to slowly slide over the textured stone surface. The rear is the competent area and also the creative production center. It is also the area for receiving customers. The rear ceiling uses transparent glass to increase the lighting space. The back of the cabinet with the floor-to-ceiling windows has a trampoline, so that colleagues who need to work overtime have a place to rest and hang. The black glass compartment and folding door are designed to maintain air circulation, using a T-shaped black iron with a hanging rib as a structure. The overall design, we hope to present the texture of the material itself, whether it is a flat wall and a rough iron plate, or a hand-made wood and mirror glass, through the ratio of the space and materials that originally produced many conflicts into space The protagonist, low-key is the life of space.
